Perception of The Quality of Internet Sources By Academic Staff In The University of Calabar,Nigeria

ABSTRACT:The study investigated the perception of the quality of Internet sources by academics in the University of Calabar. The descriptive survey method was used for the study. Four objectives were formed to guide the study. Out of the 770 academic staff that were used as the population, 200 were randomly selected as the sample. Questionnaire was the instrument used for data collection .. The findings of study indicated that 66. 7% of the respondents used the Internet regularly, 54% perceived that Internet sources are accurate, while 56% perceived that Internet sources are very current and 52.5% perceived that all Internet sources are edited and reviewed. It is concluded that academics in the University of Calabar perceive the internet as a source of accurate, current and well edited information.
