ABSTRACT:The study examined the influence of information acquisition on academic performance of law students in Delta State University, Nigeria. A survey method was used in the study, with questionnaire as instrument for data collection. The findings showed that effective acquisition of information in law library is relatively relevant for increased academic performance of law students in the survey. It was found that 49 .5% of information acquired is used for class work/assignment by the students while crowded school timetable/workload (59.9%) is the major hindrance to frequent visit to the law library. The study recommends that the school timetable should be adjusted to allow for enough free time for the students to visit the library for effective access to information in the library.
