On Humanism and The Poverty of Science
Humanism as a view of life takes its position strictly on science and on the side of materialism. And materialism is a philosophical theory which says that only physical entities exist and that so-called mental things are manifestations of an underlying physical reality. In other words reality consists only of material or physical entities, and that supernatural entities do not exist. Unarguably, there are obvious difficulties in trying to picture reality on or from anything that is restricted to physical phenomena. " to highlight the philosophy of humanism as well as explore the difficulties, limitations, contradictions and even negative effects of science which we have chosen to designate as the poverty of science.
